The Uniform Project: 1 Year Wearing the Same Dress Every.Single.Day.

blogger Sheena Matheiken has taken the concept of wearing the same piece repeatedly, (daily, in fact) and styling it so differently each time so that it looks like a completely different outfit.

And it's not just a self-congratulatory style experiment either - The Uniform Project was conceived as a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has worked to bring education to the poorest children in India - allocating as much money on each child's schooling as the Indian government spends on the priveleged children. All contributions from the Uniform Project will go toward funding the new Akanksha schools that are opening in Mumbai and Pune - and the Project has already raised $47,000: enough for 130 children to attend school.

Beginning in May 2009 - Sheena has worn the same dress every single day (but it can be worn back-to-front and with the buttons unbuttoned for a little variety), uploading a daily outfit photo. (Well, technically she has 7 dresses that she rotates, but all are exactly the same.) She has styled the piece with various accessories and "accoutrements;" the majority of which are be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies (or donations from designers wanting to have their piece featured on the site).

heel love.

so i was browsing some blogs and came across Rosa Acosta's King Magazine shoot.

heeeeyyy she has the same heels as me! except they look better on her. i don't like the outfit i wore this day, it was REAL last minute and i scrambled to throw something on in like, 20 seconds.

i'm raw dog, i'm rough sex. i'm on deck--i'm up next.

i actually did my hair for once. i really really liked it, plus i had lots of compliments on it. well, few people actually opened their mouth to speak and compliment, whileas a majority of people just stared, said "omg." or whispered to their friends to all look. whatever that means. they couldah been hatin' or lovin', i don't care. or some people would just be saying it real loud "OH her hair real cute" to whomever their with and clearly i can hear them...

sidenote: i've decided to make my pictures smaller. not sure whether i'm liking this tho, so i may change it back. i hate small pictures.

last minute Christmas shopping.

my best friend and i :) for some odd reason,
we always end up matching someway or another.

no money+shopping=quickly tired.

i wish we had a group pic. we literally did
this to EVERY store we went in. looked around
for a bit, got tired, sat down. congregated
into little circles. blocked the entrances.
talked and laughed. left before they started
to think we were stealing. i love these guys
with all my hearts. where's the group pics?!

The Perfect Cargos.

can anyone tell me where those cargo pants are from? they're absolutely PERFECT. the look (her whole outfit actually) is extremely boyish. the pants are made exactly like how men's are, with the removable bottoms at the knees too! it's just an overall perfect fit and if anyone can tell me what brand/where they're from, that would be perfect. thanks.
